I was born and brought up in the UK. Having decided to take Maths & Stats at Leicester University I ventured into a career in accounting. I spent most of my career as a Management Accountant in large corporates like BOC and Halliburton as well as unknown companies and sole trader businesses.
I had a career semi-break while bringing up my 3 daughters, who have grown into successful career women.
I have spent a lot of my adult life in voluntary service. I am at present a trustee of our local mosque and Treasurer of AWN. But my greatest passion is the weekly local senior club which was started over 12 years ago to help bring elderly people out of isolation.We provide a cooked lunch; exercise; board games and much needed chai & chat every week.
I spend a lot of time in the community trying to make a difference. I also love spending time with my family & friends; trying to gather everyone together as often as I can.
My hobbies include reading, exercising, cooking, swimming, country walking, visiting museums, going to the theatre, playing board games, spending time with kids, knitting and traveling.
