1. What’s your role at AWN, and what do you focus on day to day?
I’m the Charity Support Officer at AWN, where I help member organisations strengthen their operations, enhance their impact, and build sustainable futures. My day-to-day work includes offering practical guidance around funding, project delivery, and strategic development so that charities and community groups can grow with confidence.
2. What drew you to work at AWN, and what do you enjoy most about being part of the team?
I’ve always been passionate about grassroots change, and AWN’s mission aligns closely with the work I’ve been doing in the charity and community sector for years. What I enjoy most is supporting organisations that are deeply rooted in their communities and seeing the difference that tailored, hands-on support can make.
3. What is your professional background or one key experience that shapes how you work today?
Over the years, I’ve led a range of community projects from conception to completion, from managing fundraising and securing grants to supporting initiatives that directly improve people’s lives. I’m also the founder of Rosebuds Sisters, a women’s voluntary faith group that empowers women to step into leadership. That experience of nurturing others and helping them unlock their potential shapes how I support organisations every day.
4. What is something you enjoy outside of work (a hobby, interest, or cause you care about)?
Outside of work, I’m passionate about women’s empowerment and community engagement, and I dedicate time to mentoring and supporting women on their leadership journeys. I also love spending time with my family, recharging through creative projects, and getting involved in initiatives that build confidence and connection within the community.
